![]() They're both mediocre, that's the truth, but DL2 adds some depth to the characters, without Crane there's not really that much of great characters, without Aiden there's still a couple that are recognizable That depends on your skill in combat,i rarely get grabbed and overall there's much more action, more zombies to fight and more combosĭL1 had tedious parkour challenges too, honestly even though i liked more the way DL1 questes were organized,i enjoyed 2 more That's true but it's also subjective, the slums were cool and all,and so was old town, but to me a big modernized city is just as cool Not to mention the lack of rewards for exploring, as each one provides the exact same loot as others of the same kind, more or less Safe zones (Nightrunner hideouts especially), Windmills, Dark Hollows, GRE Quarantines, Convoys, etc. In DL2, there is just such an absurd amount of copy-pasting that every type of area feels completely identical. In DL1, even different areas of the Slums felt like they were so unique and had their own identity, same with Old Town - and were also rewarding in that they often provided blueprints for exploring. It's a massive downgrade from the first game. There is just a huge lack of side quests in DL2, with half of the existing ones just being a parkour challenge packed as a side quest (with so much bloated and meaningless NPC dialogue to preface them).Īnd I also have issues with many DL2 skills (including the clunky dash compared to a regular sprint button), horribly implemented roaming volatiles, even worse writing than DL1, and more.įor one, exploration. ![]() Every other biter grabs you, and unlike the first game, interrupts your attack animations and lacks the instant break skill.įor three, quests. However, in DL2, zombie combat is a big step back. Human combat was definitely an improvement, as in the first game melee combat was EXTREMELY tedious and annoying. Not to mention the lack of rewards for exploring, as each one provides the exact same loot as others of the same kind, more or less.įor two, combat. We do encourage original content, however.ĭL2 did a few things much better, but imo did many more things so much worse.įor one, exploration.
